We have decided to create a blog for Segue II. We want to share our stories, pictures and adventures with our friends and family, who have been crew in the past, and who will hopefully join us again on future passages. Jim and Joy
If a person must be obsessed by something, I suppose a boat is as good as anything, perhaps a bit better than most. A sailing craft is not only beautiful, it is seductive and full of strange promise and the hint of trouble.

Huskies vs Ducks Football Game by Boat
Last weekend Bill and Barb Stater, Ralph, Bonnie and Scott Fillingame, Joy and I took Segue II under 4 bridges and through the Ballard Locks to Lake Washington and the U.W. vs U.O. football game. At each bridge we had to signal with an air horn (1 three second blast and 1 one second blast) to open the bridge. Every time the bridge would slowly open in front of us as cars stopped to let us through. Such a sense of power! After a beautiful trip through the canal, Lake Union and Lake Washington we arrived at the stadium. We later took Segue II back to the Salmon Bay Marina on Lake Union and went by bus to watch the Ducks whoop on the Huskies. It was a perfect weekend and one more item on my bucket list gets a check! Scott was kind enough to shoot the video. I think we just established a new biannual tradition.
